Our ready to decorate rich fruit cake bases are ideal when you are short of time, or if you prefer to concentrate on decorating rather than baking! We also have a handy guide to cutting your fruit cake online here! Perfect for wedding and celebration cakes, these are made to a traditional recipe and also work well as Christmas cakes.
Made with only the highest quality ingredients to ensure your decorated cake will taste as good as it looks. The fruit is soaked in pure fruit puree and sherry for several days, and then baked in a way which seals in the moisture, so you will not need to feed the cake with extra alcohol prior to decorating - this can make the cake soggy and difficult to cut. Cakes are carefully packaged in sturdy individual boxes to protect them during the journey to you. Our fruit cakes are baked in a tin the size stated, but will measure a little smaller due to shrinkage on cooling. As shrinkage occurs mainly at the top, the cake should be inverted prior to covering. Order samples online here!
All round ready made fruit cakes are baked to a target depth of 2.5, except for the 2" x 2" rounds, which are 2" deep, and the 1.5" deep 4" round cakes. Deeper cakes (3" or 3.5" deep), and larger cakes from 16" up to 20" round, can be baked to special order - please allow 10 to 14 days for delivery.
Shelf life of 18 months from baking. Cakes will normally have matured for a few months before delivery, but will usually still have several months shelf life remaining.

Fruit Cake Ingredients: 52% Vine Fruits (Currants, Sultanas, Raisins) (Sulphites), Egg, Wheat Flour (inc Iron, Calcium Carbonate, Nicotinic Acid, Thiamin), Brown Sugar with Cane Molasses, Vegetable Margarine (Palm & Rape Oil, Salt, Emulsifier E471), Candied Orange & Lemon Peel, Glacé Cherries (inc colour E127), Butter (Milk), Ground Hazelnut, Sherry, Glycerine, Spice, Pureé of Orange & Lemon, Colour (Caramel), Preservative: E202, Emulsifier: Soy Lecithin.
Store in a cool dark place. Cut with a sharp serrated knife.
Clean and moisten the blade between cuts.
Size indicates the size of tin used to bake, some shrinkage will occur.

Not sure when to order? Ideally, place your order a week before you need to use the goods - even though most 'Express' orders arrive within just 1 or 2 working days, allow extra time if you can! Our cakes have a five week shelf life and won't suffer if they arrive a few days before you plan to start decorating. If you have a particular day you'd prefer delivery, use the 'comment' box at checkout to let us know, but bear in mind we never 100% guarantee delivery on a specific day
