Dowels are essential for stacking cakes securely! Most round cakes need at least 3 in each tier, square cakes need at least 4 in each tier. Make sure to cut your dowels so they are just flush with the top of your iced cake. Done correctly, the weight of the upper tiers should rest mostly on the dowels below, not on the bottom cake.
Wooden dowels are the traditional choice, and can be cut to size with a hacksaw. We also offer a choice of plastic dowels.

Please note, orders placed after 1pm may leave us the following day, and we do not despatch orders at weekends on Bank Holidays.
Not sure when to order? Ideally, place your order a week before you need to use the goods - even though most 'Express' orders arrive within just 1 or 2 working days, allow extra time if you can! Our cakes have a five week shelf life and won't suffer if they arrive a few days before you plan to start decorating. If you have a particular day you'd prefer delivery, use the 'comment' box at checkout to let us know, but bear in mind we can't 100% guarantee delivery on a specific day
