Sugarpaste Ingredients All Sweet Success products are made with the best ingredients available, whatever the cost. We aim to keep our products free of all GMO ingredients, and don't use any hydrogenated fats. We use ingredients with a vegetable origin wherever possible, but where we will achieve a better result with an animal product, such as butter and egg in our fruit cake, we will do so. All our products are suitable for a standard vegetarian diet, except for the Pastiche and Pastrima range, which contains gelatin. As we are a small bakery and use nuts (hazelnuts and walnuts specifically) on a daily basis, we can't guarantee any of our products are totally nut free. Other allergens we use include milk, egg, soya, and wheat gluten. As all products are made in the same production area, although we take great care to minimize any risk of cross contamination it important to make customers aware of this, as those with serious allergies may react to even the tiniest particle of an allergen. Moonlight Silk Ingredients: Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Vegetable Fat, Vegetable Glycerine, Stabiliser E413, Vanilla Flavour, Citric Acid, Preservative E202, Colour E171, E102 PLEASE NOTE: Moonlight Silk contains a very small amount of Tartrazine (E102), which along with 5 other commonly used colours has recently been linked with a possible effect on the activity and attention of children (hyperactivity). The European Food Safety Authority is currently reviewing all additives and colourings, and the scientific evidence for a link with hyperactivity has not so far been officially accepted. However, from July 2010 any products containing one of the six colours under investigation must be labelled with a warning of the possible link, and we are happy to point this out to customers. The intention of the new labelling regulations is chiefly to make obvious to parents any products aimed directly at children (mainly fizzy drinks and confectionery) which contain these colours and may cause problems for certain children if consumed in sufficient quantity. Moonlight Silk is the only product we manufacture which contains one of these colours, and contains only 5% (one twentieth) of the legally permitted amount in each kilogram of sugarpaste. In our opinion it is highly unlikely that any child would consume enough of the product, under normal circumstances, to suffer any adverse reaction.
